Västra Mälardalens VA AB (VMVA) has been tasked by the owner municipalities of Arboga and Kungsör to manage the municipalities' responsibility for public water and sewage supply (VA). The company was established to meet future increased demands for competence, economics, and sustainability.

We are in the midst of an exciting journey, moving from merely managing our facilities to renovating and maintaining them. Both Arboga and Kungsör face major challenges, investments, and changed working methods related to digitalization to meet society's rapid development and ensure good service and sustainable quality of life for the municipalities' residents.

We are now looking for a Water and Sewage Engineer (VA-ingenjör) and offer an exciting and developmental job with many interesting areas and varying questions that provide the opportunity to contribute to our municipalities' development.

Responsibilities

In the role of Water and Sewage Engineer, you are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pipe network. This means that you investigate, plan, order, and document in our VA database. Simpler project planning may also occur. You are responsible for administering and updating the renewal plan for the pipe network. You handle subscriber issues such as connection inquiries and fault reports. As a Water and Sewage Engineer, you work independently, but you always have the opportunity to discuss with colleagues and you actively participate in the company's improvement work. You constitute an important function within VA and are involved in many of the processes that the VA authority is responsible for.

Qualifications

For this position, we are looking for someone with education in the field and experience working with water and sewage pipe networks and related issues. We require good computer skills, and experience with VA databases is an asset. The ability to make independent decisions is a necessary trait to handle the assignment. It is also important that you have a holistic view, work structured from planning to completion, and that you can work independently and with engagement.

Since you will have many contacts with the municipality's residents and other parties, it is important that you have good communication skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. A good sense of customer service and approach is a prerequisite for success in the role. It is important that you are good at collaborating and creating and maintaining good relationships. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A Class B driver's license is a requirement.

Terms

Full-time, permanent position with location in Arboga. Start date according to agreement.

The position is classified under security regulations, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen. Employment entails a wartime assignment within the operation.
